Both the federal government and state governments offer incentives and rebates on your renewable energy projects. Federal rebates vary with the type of project, but for example, residential renewable energy projects receive 30% of the total project cost in rebates. Comprehensive lists can be found at the two websites below. U.S. Department of Energy Federal Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit Pennsylvania has the PA Sunshine Solar Program, offering rebates for both residential and commercial projects. Rebates will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis to approved applicants. For PV systems, residential the rebate is currently $1.25/watt (Tier 3), and small business is $0.75/watt (Tier 4). Both of these rebates are not to exceed 35% of total project cost.
